Resilience in higher education - what lessons can we draw from COVID-19?

About this Event

Join us for the next IIEP Strategic Debate on 26 November!

About this Event

The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted higher education worldwide. Both national authorities and decision-makers in higher education institutions needed to adapt very rapidly to both the crisis and a completely new environment. To what extent were they prepared to deal with such an unprecedented situation? What are the factors that allowed some systems and institutions to adapt more rapidly and more effectively than others did in terms of prevention, preparedness, and responses? In other words, what are the factors that foster resilience in higher education, and what should we take into account for the future of planning higher education?

Join us on 26 November for our next Strategic Debate with:

  • Francisco Marmolejo, Education Advisor, Qatar Foundation
  • Hilligje van't Land, Secretary General, International Association of Universities
  • N.V. Varghese, Vice-Chancellor, National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, India

The Debate will be moderated by Michaela Martin, Programme Specialist, IIEP-UNESCO. It will be accessible via streaming.

This event will be held in English with simultaneous interpretation into French. Follow the debate on Twitter with #StrategicDebate and @IIEP_UNESCO.
